Recruitment Specialist (Temporary - 4 months)

Primary Role Focus

The Recruitment Specialist works with internal customers and as a part of the Human Resources team to attract and screen high quality candidates for open positions. Works with internal customers to understand current and future recruitment needs and is responsible for full cycle recruitment. The Recruitment Specialist reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Works with Hiring Managers to understand the candidate profiles in detail to ensure that a solid profile of a high quality hire is identified.
  • Source high quality candidates to fill open roles, including directly sourcing passive candidates.
  • Works with Recruitment/Staffing vendors as needed.
  • Follows the Packers Plus Recruitment process:
    • Write and advertise job opportunities using the appropriate advertisement channel
    • Review resumes and performs pre-screen as needed
    • Short list and interview qualified candidates and passes successful candidates to the Hiring Manager
    • Arranges Pre-employment testing
    • Coordinates offer and new hire paperwork
  • Perform onboarding and orientation activities for all new hires as needed
  • Works well with minimal supervision
  • Ensure compliance with Packers Plus Health and Safety Program


  • 2-3 years of experience with full cycle recruitment
  • In depth understanding of behavioral interviewing, recruitment practices, employment law as it pertains to recruitment
  • High School Diploma, University Degree an asset
  • Relevant HR certification an asset
  • Microsoft Office working knowledge
