Safety, Health & Environment Coordinator

Primary Role Focus

Safety, Health & Environment Coordinator works with employees to ensure that the company’s safety policies and standards are followed and met. The role will also provide administrative support to the department.

  • This role reports to the Lead - S.H.E.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate safety orientations for all new employees
  • Update safety training  requirements for all and existing employees
  • Maintenance of safety training database
  • Schedule safety training 
  • Responsible for accurate meeting minutes and meeting arrangements including location, catering and audio/visual  equipment  as required
  • Maintain the safety network drive
  • File all paperwork electronically
  • Handling Safety invoicing
  • Special projects as required

Position Requirements

Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience in similar position
  • Previous experience with WCB an asset
  • Knowledge of OSH guidelines and practices (e.g. accident reporting process)
  • Experience in reporting and developing policies
  • Experience in coordinating/presenting safety training programs/presentations
  • Proficient  in MS Office

Education and Training

  • Health & Safety Administrator (HAS) Certification is an asset
  • NCSO
  • Standard First Aid with AED
  • WCB Claims Management

Physical and Safety Requirements

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse
  • Subject to post-incident and reasonable-cause drug & alcohol testing
